Robert MacDonald is a native of Massachusetts. A graduate of Boston University and the New England Conservatory of Music, he earned Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Organ Performance at those institutions as well as the Associate degree of the American Guild of Organists.
A life-long church musician beginning at age ten, Robert also taught public school music, is a published composer, has directed choral societies, entertained in supper clubs, and was organist at Radio City Music Hall in New York City from 1980 to 1989. He moved to New York City in 1969 when he was appointed Associate Organist - Choir Director of The Riverside Church in New York City from 1969 to 1977. Concurrently he was Director of Music and Organist at The Interchurch Center, also in New York City. In 1977 he was appointed Director of Music at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Newark, New Jersey, and in 1989 he became Organist - Choir Director at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, Texas, a position he held until retirement in August, 2006. In the past year Robert has been guest organist at churches throughout the country playing services or recitals almost every Sunday,
