Rodney Barbour will perform a 'Christmas Spectacular" in the next PipeSounds Series concert on the Harrah Symphonic Organ at Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church on SWunday, Dec. 1.

HURRICANE -- Huntington native Rodney L. Harbour will bring the sounds of the season to Hurricane for the next Pipe-Sounds Concert Series performance.
Barbour will perform "A Thankful Christmas Spectacular" at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, on the Hurrah Symphonic Organ at Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church, 2848 Putnam Ave., Hurricane.
This will be Barbour's fifth performance on the world-class Harrah organ. He is an accomplished performer and his career has taken many directions since completing extensive courses, including his doctorate at the University of Cincinnati.
He has performed music with the Holiday on Ice Orchestra, the Ringling Brothers-Barnum and Bailey Circus and has held the position of official organist of the Cincinnati Reds at Riverfront Stadium as well as organist for several prestigious churches.
"(Barbour's) credentials are wide and varied, but one of his best attributes is his personalityto connect with the audience and include them in the performance," according to a news release from PipeSounds. "During the Christmas 2013 concert, Barbour plans a very special 'guest' for the second half of the concert."
Tickets will be available at the door: adults, $10; students, $5; children younger than 5, free. There will be a reception following the performance. Directions to the church are available at www.forrestburdette.com.
